Treatments & Surgeries by Dr Webber
-
Gallbladder Surgery
Located in the upper abdomen, the gallbladder is a small organ responsible for collecting and storing bile, a liquid that aids in breaking down and digesting food.
-
Pancreas Surgery
The pancreas serves both digestive and endocrine functions: it produces enzymes for food digestion and regulates blood sugar with insulin.
-
Liver Surgery
The liver, body's largest organ, detoxifies blood, regulates sugar, clotting, and performs vital functions, located below the rib cage in the upper abdomen.
-
Gastrointestinal Surgeries
Procedures including antireflux surgery, investigations like ERCP, gastroscopy, and colonoscopy, as well as hernia repairs.
Costs & ‘Gaps’
The Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) poorly reflects the complexity of surgical procedures in many cases. In addition, it penalises surgeons for providing multiple procedures to patients and does not encourage efficiency.
Dr Webber is a private billing surgeon - any possible ‘Gap Payment’ for surgery will be discussed and informed financial consent will be completed prior to surgery
Consultation fees may vary based on the time required and complexity though generally an initial consult is charged at $250 whilst a follow-up charged at $125. Medicare will rebate a percentage of this charge. Private health funds do not offer a rebate for consultation fees
Some special procedures may require additional payments for assistant fees. These will be discussed prior to surgery.
